What’s he that wishes so?

그렇게 바라는 사람이 누구냐?

 

My cousin Westmorland. No, my fair cousin.

내 사촌 Westmorland아, 아니다 내 사촌아.

 

If we are marked to die, we are enough

To do our country loss. And if to lie,

The fewer men, the greater share of honour.

우리가 죽게 되어있다면 우리 나라에 손실을 끼칠 만큼 충분한 수가 여기 있다.

만일 우리가 살아있다면 수가 적으면 적을수록 우리가 받게 되는 명예의 몫이 커진다.

 

God’s will, I pray thee wish not one man more.

신에 대고 맹세하건대 한 명도 더 바라지 않는다.

 

By Jove, I am not covetous for gold,

나는 금을 탐욕스러워 하지 않는다.

 

Nor care I who doth feed upon my cost.

누가 내 돈으로 먹고 사는지 나는 상관하지 않는다

 

It yearns me not if men my garments wear.

사람들이 내 옷을 입고 있어도 상관하지 않는다.

Such outward things dwell not in my desires.

그런 외형의 것은 나의 욕구 밑에 살고 있지 않다.

 

But if it be a sin to covet honour

하지만 명예를 탐하는 것이 죄라면

 

I am the most offending soul alive.

나는 가장 죄를 저지르고 사는 영혼이다.

 

No, faith, my coz, wish not a man from England.

내 사촌아 영국에서 더 한 명도 바라지 말자

 

God’s peace, u would not lose so great an honour

As one man more, methinks, would share from me,

For the best hope I have. Oh, do not wish one more!

 

내가 가지고 있는 가장 큰 희망으로부터 나는 한 사람 더 있어서 잃게 되는 그 몫도 잃게 되기를 바라지 않는다. 오히려 부하 장정들에게 선언을 해라.

 

Rather proclaim it, Westmorland, through my host

That he which hath no stomach to this fight

Let him depart. His passport shall be made,

이 싸움을 할 용기가 없는 사람은 떠나게 해라, 그 허가증을 내가 내줄 것이다.

 

And crowns for convoy put into his purse.

여행 삯도 그에게 다 줄 것이다.

We would not die in that man’s company

That fears his fellowship to die with us.

This day is called the Feast of Crispian.

오늘은 성 crispian의 축제날이라고 불린다.

 

He that outlives this day and comes safe home

오늘 살아남아서 무사히 집을 가는 사람은

 

Will stand a –tiptoe when this day is named,

나중에 다시 이 날이 찾아오면 발 끝을 들것이다.

 

And rouse him at the name of Crispian.

Crispian의 이름을 들으면 벌떡 일어나게 될 것이다(자랑스러우니까, 게다가 자랑할 수 있는 날임 )

 

He that shall see this day and live old age

오늘을 보고 늙게까지 살아남은 사람은

 

Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,

매년 잊지 않고 그의 이웃들을 풍족히 먹여 살릴 것이다

 

And say ‘Tomorrow is saint Crispian.’

그리고 말할 것이나 내일이 crispian 날이라고

 

Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,

그런 다음 그는 팔뚝을 걷어 상처를 보여줄 것이다.

 

And say ‘these wounds I had on Crispin’s day.’

Old men forget, yet all shall be forgot

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers –

For he today that sheds his blood with me

Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile

Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,

And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks

That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s Day
